Comment here and Gene will tell you (in blunt and possibly insulting phrases) exactly what he thinks of your character. Because Sam did it and Gene WANTS TO BE JUST LIKE SAM. Because the mun is bored.
He thinks River is, you know, basically off her nut. And possibly into drugs. And weirdly perceptive. Really, he doesn't know what to think of her. He's curious about her and wary of her and feels slighty protective of her if it turns out to be true that she was tortured. Coppers instinct and all to protect the vulnerable. That Sam seems chummy with her also factors in, but Gene hasn't decided if it's in favour of River or against. So really he just doesn't know and is going to remain stand-offish and wary and watchful

Aw, well isn't Gene just adorable? Go on, then. He's met James and Bertie as well, so let's hear the Gene Genie's opinion on all three of my lovely muses.
He likes James, almost automatically, as someone who respects the law. He thinks he's a bit uptight though and the 1712 re-he-heally freaks him out. But other than that, he thinks James is a good bloke, and would probably ask him if he share a drink if they met again. For Gene, James is sort of an island of sanity in the middle of everything going topsy-turvy
