I love me some Rasputina.

Because I am a sucker for strings and weird lyrics, and they have both.

I discovered them via a Buffy: the Vampire Slayer soundtrack mix cd. No joke! I like compilations because they're like a box o chocolates, and all that.

No idea. I still regularly acquire mix CDs and listen to them.

Joan Jett or Suzie Quattro. They're both BRILLIANT, and the epitome of female empowerment imo.

I think itunes is an easy way to look for new music, especially if you have genius recommendations turned on. There are plenty of music sites though, if that aint your bag.

You'll hate my choice, but whatever.

Drain STH.
Coz they're an all-female grunge/metal group that doesn't suck. Think Alice In Chains but female and a bit heavier.
Triple J XIII compilation in the late 90s
Bittorrent :)

Amanda F Palmer.

Initially through seeing the video for Coin Operated Boy, and for hearing "Kiss me" and "Girl Anachronism"

Do you mean all-girl group? Nouvelle Vague, Rasputina, Mazzy Star.

But for female leads, Little Dragon is the Shit, see also Husky Rescue, Zero 7, Sia Furler, Santigold, Adele, Zee Avi. Something in there has got to whet your appetite because they're all really different :)

toss up between Emilie Autumn and Sarah Brightman

Emilie was shown to be by Ngatina - she is a classically trained child prodigy violinist who plays industrial violin and has a crazy awesome tea party touring show.

Sarah, well you probably know her from her many operas.. Found out about her ...... not sure, probably when I first really started listening to operas and classical music a long while back.

Kransky Sisters.

They got together when we were working on a show.

I googled online radio today. I should ask the same question about online music. Brad seems to know.
