My car blew a transmission line this morning. I made it back home going about 25 mph. Hopefully it's something that can be fixed easily and cheaply, because I need my car to get to school.

What a wonderful way to start a Friday....

irony, car

Yep. At times like these I wonder if the universe has something against me.

Remind me to tell you what happened to my mom today in regards to car trouble! (I'm heading to bed!)

My brother had to practice for his driver's test yesterday morning, (he takes it Monday) and you know how the testers make you use the emergency brake every time you park... It's one of those things you never do once you've actually gotten your license, right?

[in my brother's case, he's testing for his US Forces Japan Form 4EJ (that's what the "license" for military and other SOFA status people driving personal cars is called. If you have a US license, you're supposed to keep it renewed, as well as have a 4EJ. If you don't, you just need the 4EJ to drive here. It's printed in English and Japanese.])

Well, my Mom got into the car after him and forgot he had put it on - until she felt the brakes going out on her (because it had been left on while she was driving it) right at Gate 1. THEN she noticed and lowered the emergency brake lever and immediately headed home. We had to not drive the car for the rest of the day because the brakes were not wanting to work.

It works fine today, however. No damage done, thank goodness.

Not fun. I'm waiting to hear from another member of my ward about checking out my car.
