holiday weekend report

Whew! We had a weekend, all right!

On Thursday it was ridiculously hot and I baked a whole bunch of stuff and the kitchen was like a sauna. d'oh.

On Friday we drove out to the cottage and it was ridiculously wet/rainy and cool, which was kinda sad. But we still managed to have a nice Fourth of July cookout with mom, sandykidd, metafrantic, Bastian, and family friend

google on watermelon, mint, feta cheese.
it sounds weird, but there are a whole bunch of salads with
some combination of these ingredients that are actually really addictive.

Oh, I'm not worried about our ability to eat up the watermelon! Just about how I'm going to fit it all into my fridge. ;) But thanks for the idea -- it does sound intriguing.
