You are all terribly distrustful. That's good.

So that you're working with an informed opinion however, this was the work of neither myself nor the Organization.

If you were in our position, would you take the offer?

No, but that's not because I don't trust the contents of the letter. Well, I don't, but I don't trust anything I don't have a hand in myself anyway.

Then why? If you're willing to share.

I'm not, sorry.

Gracious me, do people on your world have the time for this kind of nonsense? I'd be very surprised if this was a prank.

Just when I thought I had somethin' pegged, things change and get worse. ...About normal for here, I'd say.

So it's more to do with Shifting, huh? Do you think this other group might simply be testing their abilities on us? ...You know, if a portal actually does appear.

Man, I hate it when Guy's right sometimes...

That's highly possible. Though I don't know why they'd go to the trouble of trying it with all of you, considering the risk.

Risk to us? ...Or risk to them?

To them, naturally. An unauthorized Shift within the enclosure would throw up a myriad of red flags.

The decision was tempting enough, but confirming some parts of the letter makes the choice even more difficult. Considering all the different worlds we come from, is it really possible for a single portal to send us back to our correct worlds and times? I don't trust it either.

By "breaking apart," do they mean losing our sanity?

What would happen if the Malnosso became panicked?

[Because Jay, for one, would not mind provoking them...]

That's because you don't understand Shifting, but that's all right. It's not really a "portal" anyway.

No.

More than likely they'd do whatever they could to keep you from that so-called "gate" on Friday. Probably use that same Shifting sequence that murdered the hybrids way back when.

[It's true, that science is not one of Jay's strong points.]

All the more reason not to trust this thing...

Last month, we had John's little amusement park, and now this month we have these odd letters. Are the Malnosso taking a vacation of their own, or are they too busy with their experiments on individuals?

There's a danger to Shifting too much; they've learned their lesson since. Why do you think they generally only run one experiment a month?

Looks like some people have talked about the consequences.

Now here's a question. How can it be true, when people come and go all the time? Sometimes from different times, and nothing's changed.

malnosso November 24 2009, 19:11:53 UTC
Because the consequences on a world aren't as obvious as events that occur within it, that's a little small in scale.

Even when some people have been here for years and people from their worlds show up like nothing's happened?

And where does this put people who died before they came here?

Kiddo, if I just said that the consequences don't involve the flow of time, why would that be any different?
