I loved it, and I really loved John Hurt's Doctor. But I do not understand why they had to shoe-horn another Doctor in. That storyline could easily have been given to the Eighth Doctor.

I would have loved it being Eight too, but I am happier with War!Doctor being an entity that was there specifically to fight the War. As soon as the War was over, he regenerated. It makes sense to me that he'd use a regeneration to fight the War and regenerate again right after.
