...Complete Fire Bans

Lets not forget the stupid people who light fires either by accident or on purpose during high danger for fire days especially when the entire state has basically been put on a complete fire ban. Lets see who the idiot is who decides to think this is the exact right time to burn off in my town this year

I'm safe right now, the other day there was a lot of smoke around, but right now there isn't. But there is a definite fire ban.

Don't you just LOVE people like that? We aren't as prone to wildfires as some areas, but there's always some concern during dry summers because the people around here are just soooo stupid and think they can just burn whatever they want without consequences. Like, say, houses. Never mind that this is a sparsely populated area with slow fire department response time and a whole lotta trees and fields that can burn...

(Sorry... this is yet another reason I hate this area so much, and can't help but rant.) I hope they get everything under control soon, there!

One of the fires nearer Sydney was purposefully lit by some girls.

Utterly stupid.

The rest of them are natural fires due to the dry weather and heat, and they are becoming huge problems and out of control in some areas because of the high winds we are having too. Not a good combination.

But we are quite used to fires here, even my area which is less likely to be in danger of a fire than some others are taught fire safetly. We do have quite a bit of open dry farmland nearby and there is a forest nearby too that is likely to catch fire.

Over 200 houses have been completely destroyed and there has been 1 death.
