One-sided Doctor/Martha...

Huh.

Yep, the Doctor gets his own taste of one-sidedness with Adelaide.

With the way I wrote the story, it wasn't possible for me to have full Doctor/Martha. Or else, you can bet it'd be in there.

Right.

Well, I don't know why I expected there to be proper Martha/Doctor. Stupid of me, really, given almost no one writes it any more.

I haven't been writing much of anythign recently, except this story. And the pairings are either all, or made to only be a few and in certain ways. For the way I wrote the tenth Doctor, at the time it wouldn't have worked, but he realises why and knows he was a complete bastard about it.

And if I ever get around to finishing my NaNo from last year, that turns out Doctor/Martha. Full on.

XD

I sorta rely on rare/strange/obscure names that mean something close to how I want the character to be, for my OC Time People. Like how my version of Koschei's mum is named "Letizia", which was the name of Napoleon Bonaparte's mother, and means "joy, happiness". *shrug*

I has a friend called Leticia :P

Me, I just figured that, because names are so important to their cultures, or so they seemed, that, when they reach school age, they would be designated a name and use that for any contact outside of family. So, their real names are kept secret. Except on rare occasions. I see Romana's name as her deciding to pick something long and complicated after Graduating and becomign a Tiem Lord. Hey, the Doctor chose Doctor, and the master chose master, and Rani chose Rani. Why not?

I think it's a bit like what Rome did; you had a family name, a "first" name, and a nickname, at the very least. Then, if you had more than one child, the names would be altered into ones like Sextus for "sixth son". There were many other ways a name could be done or interpreted or taken on.

It was all very complicated and kinda awesome.
