Loss of appetite

Dec 13, 2005 15:58

Recently I've not been very hungry (probably thanks to recent family events I suspect). This is not normal for me. I tend to eat tons. So help!!! I need to get re-inspired by food or something. What should I cook tonight?

Thai green curry.

Whatever you do, stay away from the salmon!

i've been making a lot of bread recently. a nice fresh caremelised onion wholemeal loaf takes 90 mins from start to finish, so you could whip up a soup while you're waiting and be amazed.

alternatively, the mushroom burgers from tescos are too tasty - stick them in a bun with onions, halloumi (or not, for you are of delicate stomach) and other stuff.

I haven't had fanjitas in ages! Although I did have a 3 bean mexican tortilla wrap for lunch today.

Hmm... Maybe some kind of sauted veggie wrap with melted cheese is in order?

Ello there stranger/neighbour!!! It's been a while. How ya doing?

(P.S. I'm feeling the mushroom burgers. I could go for one of them and proper tart it up with onions and lettuce and fancy pants cheese) :-D

Soup and grilled cheese, didn't you post about a certain Tomato Soup with a funny name a few months back?

This time of year I love simmering soups or stew and warm bread. Let us know what you decide, ok?

Soup and grilled cheese? That's very 'Tiff'! It's her comfort food as I recall.

I could make my world famous yellow pepper soupTM but I'm looking for something with a little bit more 'substance' as it were.

Substance......let's see. You have a rice cooker that you could use broth instead of water for steaming (to add a little extra flavor) then sear some cubes of lamb or pork in olive oil, adding either coriander and mint or go more with Tai inspired herbs. I would make a suace out of the pan drippings to drizzle over the meat and rice. Oh, some steamed broccoli or whatever veggie you have available would be nice.

Yes, soup and grilled cheese are my comfort foods, too. Your yellow pepper soup sounds divine. I must purchase one of you trademarked batches, poste haste.

Happy Tuesday.

An old friend, that!

I'm still searching for the perfect sausage to go with this though. I find that most of the foofy posh sausages have a little bit too much gristle in for my liking and the cheap ones are mainly saw dust.

What brand do you favour?

I do like a bit of lamb. Actually, I'd love to make a lamb stew, with lots of pearl barley...
