Slowly and rather hesitantly, the raven haired teen peered into the darkened cafeteria, midnight black eyes shifting from one staff member to another. He just stayed in the doorway for a moment, wondering how a mental institution thought a dance would lighten the mood.

With a sigh, Sasuke moved into the room and straightened out the long sleeves of his shirt, glancing down at himself for a moment. He thought that he'd dressed up as much as possible; his shirt was nice, the pants he was wearing fit very well and he'd made sure to shower before the dance, so his skin and hair smelled faintly of vanilla ( ... )

It never had been difficult for Orochimaru to pick out Sasuke in a crowd; even when they had known each other before coming here, the Uchiha's pale skin and dark hair making him stand out among the rest. And now that they'd done what they'd done... well, his body wouldn't readily forget the feel of the other man.

He'd bought new formal clothes for this occasion but decided to dress down for tonight, wearing a button-down shirt in a soft gray color, and a tweed vest. Those were paired with a pair of faded jeans and a brown leather belt. Looking around, Orochimaru figured he at least was the classiest person in the room--well, apart from Sasuke, who looked chic no matter what. Black never went out of style when you were an Uchiha.

The intern couldn't keep the saunter out of his step as he walked over to where Sasuke was. Nor could he keep the smirk off his face. "Evening, Sasuke-kun," he said when he got close enough.

Those dark eyes continued to look around the room, watching what little amount of patients had made their way in for the moment before he let out a sort of annoyed sounding sigh. Why had he agreed to come to this dance unless something important was going to happen? Of course, if a fight broke out, he'd probably have to help break it up, but it didn't seem anything like that would happen.

He tilted his head down to stare at the floor, shifting so he could lean on his elbows now instead of his hands. Luckily, the table was high enough, so it didn't make much of a difference how he was standing. Weren't dances suppose to be loud and . . fun?

The sound of his name made him glance up, a grin dancing across his features as soon as he recognized the voice. He turned his head, looking towards the intern and straightening up instantly, bringing his hand up in greeting. ``Hello, Oro-san.``

"You appear to be having an absolutely fabulous time." Orochimaru's voice fair dripped with sarcasm. Honestly, these kinds of dances weren't his thing; he was much better suited to those that carried the promise of schmoozing, champagne, and strictly formal wear.

He leaned next to Sasuke, close enough so their shoulders touched but not overtly pressing against the Uchiha. Feeling the warmth from the other spread through his skin, the intern smirked a bit. "Have you been well?"

There was a slight reluctantce about Vamp's arrival to the cafeteria. He could feel the presence of others filtering through the room, putting him on the edge. He wasn't nervous in any sense of the word, but with the negativity shunned against him, he wasn't entirely sure such public matters would be his thing. Usually he didn't care what others thought, and in fact enjoyed dancing muchly so, but being constricted to this type of environment... Assumptions were something Vamp didn't take a liking to. In fact, he muchly detested it. Who the hell were they to say what type of person he was without even meeting him ( ... )

Vamp stood out like a sore thumb around the other less 'sophisticated' guests in the cafeteria. He could feel a rapidly growing bundle of hesitation curling around in the pit of his stomach. Everyone else was like a sea of blank... nothing that immediately caught his eye.

That was... until Alfred approached him. He could feel his breath catch slightly, before an airy type of smirk painted onto his lips. The man was beautiful, in every sense, yet he still held that masculinity that would make any man stop and stare. The gown fit him particularly well, and with the clash of red and blue... they made a striking couple.

Bowing, Vamp took hold of the hand delicately and placed a tender kiss to Alfred's knuckle, eyes glinting and playful, the beginnings of lust showing.

"As you look far more desirable than I would have imagined." he purred low, before rising up to his full height again. He knew not to push the boundaries, because the man was of course taken, much to Vamp's regret.

Hisoka looked around nervously as he walked into the cafeteria and adjusted his hat. He only saw one person he knew so far, but that wasn't someone he particularly wanted to see. So he skittered away from the table Sasuke stood near, grabbed a glass of punch, and slowly sipped it as he looked around.

With the lights dimmed in here, he noticed that the scars on his arms weren't quite as visible as he'd dreaded they might be. That calmed him down a little, but he still felt awkward being here all alone.

When someone familiar passed his line of vision, his head tilted to the side just barely, dark eyes watching the boy quietly. He knew that he was suppose to keep an eye on the other patients in the dance, but not many had shown up yet, so he took this has his chance to go and talk to Hisoka.

Completely silent, Sasuke stepped towards the teen, one arm lowering to his side while the other reached for the smaller's shoulder, hesitating just near it before he pulled his hand back.

Instead, he kept his distance, not wanting to get the boy angry at him or anything. As quiet as it was, he figured that he'd better not speak too loudly or he might frighten the boy. He didn't know why, but he'd always been able to sneak up on people, even if he didn't mean to. ``Hisoka?``

He recognized the voice, of course. Hisoka closed his eyes for a moment before he turned around. Sasuke had rubbed him the wrong way when they'd met, and he didn't easily change his opinions of people.

"Yeah?" With so few people in here early, his nerves were calm for now, but Hisoka still toyed with his tie. He'd had to ask Alfred for help tying it. It looked neat now, thankfully.

``I was wondering how you were doing.`` He brought his hand up from his side, carefully moving his bangs out of his eyes before a half smile crossed his face, though it wasn't very visible in the dimmed lighting of the cafeteria which was probably good for him.

Sasuke eyed the boy curiously, lowering his hand to rest slender fingers against his cheek in thought. ``You look . . good.`` He'd almost said cute, but that word wasn't in his vocabulary.

Mashiro slowly walked into the cafeteria. Well, it was more like a stumble that resembled walking. He was overly nervous to begin with, but the fact that he was still on his period wasn't helping. The tampons were extremely awkward and made him feel disgusting, as though he'd been violated. Most of the time he tried to keep his mind off it, but at the moment, all his mind could focus on was the cotton stick in his body.

When he stepped into the cafeteria, he immediately migrated towards one of the walls, keeping his eyes averted downwards until Belldandy would come. What was he even thinking, agreeing to go with her? The woman must've been twice his age! She was doing it out of pity, he realized. He shifted his head slightly, away from the door. He regretted even deciding to go to this. But this was where everyone was, and what kind of a man was stupid enough to skip out on something like this?

...right?

Although he didn't want to admit it, the sooner this was over with, the sooner Mashiro could relax.

Belldandy wouldn't call it pity. It was more of being supportive of someone trying to find their sexual identity. Of course, they couldn't do anything intimate, as she was a married woman, but a few dances and conversation wouldn't be too bad.

She walked into the dance, looking around. Of course, she would also be supervising, but she always had good observational skills. After a bit of searching, she finally spotted the young man. "Mashiro-kun." She called, walking over to him. "Good evening."

Mashiro quickly turned his head, snapping to attention politely, giving the therapist a slight smile. Secretly, he was kind of in awe at her dress. It kind of made him feel underdressed, as though he were some dirty scoundrel compared to the others in the dance. But it was too late now, he'd just have to go with what he had.

"Belldandy, it's good to see you," he greeted, trying not to blush. A rose tint still covered his cheeks, his eyes focusing not on her, but rather the wall behind her. Otherwise he might blush even more. "Um...it's. They've really decorated the place well, haven't they?" What a conversation starter.

Belldandy smiled at Mashiro. "It's good to see you as well, Mashiro-kun." She said. She then took a look around the party. "Yes, it seems a lot more cheerful than the last party. I'm glad."

Even though she knew she was working at an insane asylum, the was not what Riza had in mind when she took the assignment. She looked around the cafeteria, idly brushing at the simple black dress she had put on. It seemed like everyone was expected to dress up for this event, whether or not they were actually participating.

Patients and staff alike were starting to enter and mingle. She didn't see anyone that she really recognized, so she moved to the side, leaning against the wall. It felt like being a chaperone at a high school dance. Not much to do but watch the dance floor, keep an eye out for trouble, and wait for the event to end.

Dilandau looked over the blonde doctor, recognising her from their conversations. He'd half imagined she'd turn up still in her work clothes, or neck-to floor covering. Instead, she was actually showing off her limbs and shape, which was pretty good for an old lady. He strolled over.

"Hey, dog-doctor, whatever your name was, what do you say we put our fights behind us and dance around a bit?" He asked, putting on a smug smirk and posing, one hand on his hips.

Speaking of being at a high school dance. . .

Riza looked the teenager over, trying to keep her annoyance in check. Did he honestly think that would work? It seemed so, with him waiting expectantly for her to just jump at the chance to dance with him.

"It's Dr. Hawkeye, and I'm not here to dance. Sorry." She really was not in the mood to put up with this particular patient. He always seemed to know exactly how to get on her nerves. And he was off to a better then usual start.

"What's the matter?" Dilandau asked, shifting position but not letting the smirk drop "Clumsy, or just shy?" She didn't look like either type. He waved one hand airily.

"Don't worry, we can go slow if you want, you don't have to be making any fancy moves in the dance floor. You just need to loosen up, you look like you've got a stick up your, err, the back of your dress." Whew, close save. He was trying not to actually insult the woman this time. She'd make good arm decoration and didn't look the type to actually fall in love with him, a convenient combination.
