Sometimes it is amazing how deeply you can feel emotions.

I was on a roll posting for a while.  Then I bought a house.  It is amazing how much time can be taken up with that.  I am finally at a place where I have free time again.  All the cups and saucers are washed and put in a place.   All the plants are potted and positioned in the right amount of sunshine.  The dvd's are organized, but not the cds.  ( Read more... )

Finished today.  I got the DS "game" 100 Classics (it was released only in England, but since I flew through there on New Year's Day, I managed to get a copy at Heathrow), and I read the book on that.  It was not that bad.  It sits comfortably in my hand as I read, so think I will read more books on the DS.  That said, I did got out and officially ( Read more... )

I always seem to time these things well.  Masterpiece theater is showing Wuthering Heights right now.  I have read as far as the first part of the special, which aired tonight, so I have the rest of the week to finish the book for the second part next Sunday.  I got Moby-Dick lined up next to read.  Then, I am thinking Lord of the Flies.  I liked ( Read more... )

To start out the new year, I am reading Wuthering Heights.  I have never read it, but I didn't like Jane Eyre, so I put aside the Bronte sisters.  I finished Brideshead Revisted, and it was nice.  I can see why they changed what they did for the movie trying to update motivations for these times.  The religious tone is interesting when applied.  ( Read more... )

The bridal expo was not that bad.  I didn't settle on anything, but it was nice to see all the options.  Mostly I took brochures and cards.  I do know I don't want fabric draped chairs.  Reminds me of proms.  Nor do I want feathers.  Or dangly sequins.  Or a horse-drawn carriage ( Read more... )

This is the first time I have had video on demand while flying over to England.  It was rather spoiling.  I first watched Brideshead Revisted.  I am still hashing through the book, so I can't compare and contrast quite yet, but I can see how they changed bits around.  The movie was ok, but nothing special.  The second movie I watched was The Dark ( Read more... )
