I've wanted to do this for a while. Not because I suddenly *know it all* but mainly because I don't. However there are observations which I feel are important. Totally agree with everything you say here. It was through the laminitis and subsequent abscesses that we x-rayed and discovered that we needed to trim and shoe Mocha according to x-rays and not what the exterior angles said. My current barn owner is not a fan of stalling horses and I think under her management it opened the door to Mocha's recovery ( ... )

It makes such sense to me that movement is a key. It is circulation not just for the hooves but 'everything'. I am not saying either that Sabre is 100% sound. He is still using his heels more than his toes. When I ride I don't ask for anything more than a walk and don't make him do small circles. However, watching him naturally he trots happily, he bucks, he turns quite sharply. Providing I can continue to keep him clear of the lami than it takes a year, I think, for his hooves to grow out. I will take his shoes off for winter, again providing he is sound enough for that. As I said, it is listening to him. I love having my daffy pony back to his normal daft self. I love hearing about Mocha and it is so interesting for me to know what you do. Thanks!
