AT3 - some brief remembrances of the Cocktail Party

I posted some pics from the U.K. but did not really say much. This is all going to take me time to process because there was Scotland and Ireland all mixed in there. I also am trying not to read anyone else's report before doing this, so as to keep it fresh to my perspective.

Her memory boggles my mind too. I had met her once at the Chicago Con[where she examined the crochet of "Amanda" I had done for her] and when I had my picture taken with her at Shore Leave, I asked if she had received the crochet of Olivia's name. [mind you, YOU took it to her and I wasn't even THERE!] She said, yes, she had received it and kissed me on the cheek. Unless she was just being sweet. Could have knocked me over with a feather.

Sounds like you had a GREAT time. That's good.

Several people have told me they really believe she has kept the scrapbook and other things. Of course, this time, they implemented a strict "no gifts" policy at her request. Where could she PUT it all?!?!?! (They'd eventually have to call in "Clean Sweep" or "Clean House" or one of those programs to dig her out!)

Sounds like you had a good time at the party, at least as long as Amanda was at your table ;) I was seating at the Void, with German and German on one side and a German and German and German on the other side (oh, fun!) I am sorry I couldn't find you... maybe next time :)

I felt so badly that they didn't seat us together after I had requested it - that I should have followed up or something. Someone told me they had "dead wood" at their table - people who hardly talked at all. Of course, with me at our table, that wasn't an issue, but I remember how scary it was to meet her the first time and tried to cut others some slack.

I think I personally funded a hearing dog between the raffle and the auction (not really, but between the gal next to me during the auction and me, I bet we sponsored half of one...).
