So you know, the basic reason that 'magic powers' are less dangerous than a gun is that it's not exactly possible for me to trade/sell/lose my 'magic powers' to some random psychopath who'd then take them out on a killing spree. If the theoretical gun was welded to your hand? Then you'd have an argument.
