Answer to the question in your summary: um, no, I would not. Poor Hoover!

I could so see this happening. Funny, satisfying, and if only it were canon, I would consider this season a complete success. One of my many favorite exchanges in this, which pretty much sums up the fic:

“Your honor, I object. My client is an idiot-“

“Agreed. But overruled. You may continue, Dr. House.”

Great story :-)

Thanksfor the comments. I am especially glad I wrote this fic, now that W&D has aired.

Oh, this is just so excellent. A good breakdown of how Wilson and Cuddy's actions failed House...and of how desperate House really became. I especially like using the lawyer's POV, because you know that can't be an easy job.

Psst. That law is spelled HIPAA. :-)

This was wonderful! I loved the different POVs we got on House's pain and treatment, particularly House talking about pain being invisible. That was just beautiful. Yet you also managed to keep a few bits of humor, and keep the characters true.

I try to write the angst but the humor just keeps on inserting itself.

Hello! Internet and Squidge.org where I originally found your great story ate my first 20 or so comment-tries which I made when reading this a day before "Words and Deeds" aired. So I'm writing a new one because I liked your story just that much ^_ ( ... )

Boy, you get some sort of Tenacity Award for commenting, despite the hardships over at Squidge. I am having a terrible time trying to answer your comment, since each time I hit the space bar more than once my comment vanishes. Do you have some sort of karmic comment thing going on?
Now that Words and Deeds has aired, I have top confess to being disappointed by the writing, too. I think they just sidestepped too many issues, and glossed over all the wrongs done to House. I hated seeing him so humbled by allthe criticisms...

Tenacity Award: does it come with a hefty monetary or fiction-al reward? ^_~ Actually after the second error message I had been clever enough to copy my review when trying again - otherwise even my stubborn streak wouldn't have persevered...
At Squidge it was mainly some weird thing about "if you use "enter" ever during commenting it gets all wonky. Whoops, sorry folks." which apparently happens often enough for them to compose a special message but NOT enough to fix it. But it kept me from feeling personally targeted by some malevolent higher internet power ^_^

Tragedy of humbled!House: tell me all about it. I sat in front of the screen and actually cheered during "MLC" for him to hold out against them all and not go take the deal! "Prison before Dishonor!" or something along those lines.... It was obvious imo that it would never work because psycho-Tritter was after something else entirely and would shoot him down as soon as he'd had House come crawling >_

Very original, very well written and, much as I love Wilson, I really DO wish someone would cross-examine him in exactly this way. He let his fear overtake all judgement and compassion when it came to House.

Loving the humor/angst combo, which is so often why I like the show as much as I do. Hopefully we'll see a bit more of the humor return soon.

Thanks very much, Blackmare.

Much as I love angst, I, too am looking forward to the return of the humor in the show. And the Wilson we all know and love.
