Now that I've seen the episode (I'm European so have to rely on DLs for recent eps) I still have to say that I wish the court-scene could have played out a bit more like yours. Because you managed to marvellously describe the underlying reasons for the situation getting out of hand like this.
In addressing Wilson's and Cuddy's recklessness, deceit (in Wilson's case) and sheer incompetence in dealing with House's dependence especially given their own profession *shakes head*, the difference between addiction (it would have been quite a different thing imo when they had shown that House took the Vicodin still during his painfree Ketamine-time! Then the out-of-control-addict stance would have made sense actually.) and being dependent due to being a pain patient or having built up a tolerance. The show fell awfully short so far in this aspects...
Well, luckily your story shows quite a bit more ^_^ I found your House-voice spot on and could practically see Hugh Laurie deliver the dialogue and gesticulating in my mind while reading. The judge (she easily could've even been the same as in the show from description and demeanour which was kinda creepy) and the poor, beset lawyer were all excellent imo. Thanks for sharing!

Now that Words and Deeds has aired, I have top confess to being disappointed by the writing, too. I think they just sidestepped too many issues, and glossed over all the wrongs done to House. I hated seeing him so humbled by allthe criticisms...

At Squidge it was mainly some weird thing about "if you use "enter" ever during commenting it gets all wonky. Whoops, sorry folks." which apparently happens often enough for them to compose a special message but NOT enough to fix it. But it kept me from feeling personally targeted by some malevolent higher internet power ^_^
Tragedy of humbled!House: tell me all about it. I sat in front of the screen and actually cheered during "MLC" for him to hold out against them all and not go take the deal! "Prison before Dishonor!" or something along those lines.... It was obvious imo that it would never work because psycho-Tritter was after something else entirely and would shoot him down as soon as he'd had House come crawling >_
