Jo Walton's Farthing is this week's free Tor.com e-book and it is FANTASTIC. I just stayed up to finish reading it and purchased the sequel on Amazon. I've even pre-ordered the third book ( Read more... )

I've been wanting to read this one for I while, so I downloaded it, but my computer isn't really where I want to be reading novels. But hey, if Tor gives me enough free ebooks, maybe someday I'll get an ebook reader. And then I suspect that I'll be tempted to buy more ebooks. (Perhaps this is their nefarious plan.)

Farthing and Ha'penny made me so happy.

Did you know Jo Walton has a livejournal? the user name is papersky (not awake enough to attempt markup so you'd have a link). She posts really interesting things there about writing and her daily life and Montreal ... and sometimes exceedingly good (and/or exceedingly amusing) poems as well.
