Friday we went to a book reading at the relocated Modern Times Bookstore: Barb Jensen, for her book on working class culture. Barb opened the reading with a couple of songs with Karen, with whom she was in a musical group back in Minneapolis two decades ago. It was great

I found "Reading Classes" to be really eye-opening.

What resonated for you particularly?

A lot of the stuff about education (which was most of the book). Interactions I've had with friends, particularly a nonfannish buddy in Mpls. When she mentions working at an urban university that was aimed at returning, nontraditional, first generation college students, she could have been talking about Antioch.
