I think we're feeling the same way for different reasons. I don't really have any advice, because I don't know that there's anything to be done. But.. you have friends, despite the fact that they feel (and are in some cases) far away.

Anyway, I commiserate.

Why don't you go back to admin type stuff? You have the same angst of feeling your talents would be better applied elsewhere, The same not-wanting-to-go-to-work. But it is simply less demanding. You also looked super in your cute little green suit. Just a thought.

I got nothing on the other bits. My life is a disaster. A hard hat area. I love you. I hope you can find a way to paint, because doing your work makes everything better.
