this is what comes of watching all your TV on the weekend

Having spent an inordinate amount of time watching television on my laptop today--from about 5:00 pm to midnight, basically, which is extremely sad but also somewhat dedicated, I'd like to think--I think I can say with minor certainty that this new season . . . really isn't as awesome as I expected. Ratings out of four stars.

I mean, Glee is epic on ( Read more... )

Serious word on the Merlin thing! I appreciated the Merlin/Arthur rift and love and appreciation thing, but why were we concentrating on that when Gwen was being awesome offscreen? I am only watching this show for her! (And also Gaius and Uther.)

It seems almost like they're trying for the "understated" slash now. I mean, really? I liked Gwen saving Arthur, but it was done in just a cliche fashion . . . I don't know. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Different episodes focus on different people, so hopefully she'll get more screen time later.

Oh, Gaius. Oh, Uther. Uther looks to be getting a lot of air this season, which is good. (Every time I see that part in the trailer where Gaius goes, "Sire, you do, um, realize that your wife is a troll, right?" I get the giggles.)

Understated?! The scene with Gaius and Merlin and the manure was the classic "Mom! This guy I like is being a total jerk to me and thinks I'm an idiot!" and...I don't even know.

YES OMG YES. Oh, Uther. And also, the part where Arthur has his sword up to Uther's neck????

Thus why the understated was in sarcastic quotation marks. ;) I want Gwen/Arthur to happen like mad, but it just seems so awkward compared to everything that they've already built. To a certain degree, I wish the writers would just throw the pre-established ships out the window and go a little Torchwood-crazy. Plus, the hot Gwen/Morgana action WOULD BE EPIC.

I know!!! Uther is getting more and more obsessed and crazy and it is awesome.
