Art rec: Remains (Sherlock Holmes)

Folks, a very quick art rec for you from the SH fandom, where I've been lurking recently: the remarkable Remains by paperflower86 (worksafe). This is a black-and-white drawing of Holmes as an English Decadent in the style of Aubrey Beardsley (I believe!) that is based on the exchange at the end of "The Sign of Four:"

Yes, it is a stunning image! Perfect for the period and content. Great title, too. Holmes canon-whore that I am, though, I prefer b&w version. Thanks for the rec.

Isn't it lovely? Every once in a while a piece of art takes my breath away. This one certainly did. (And I enjoyed the b&w version, too, though mostly because *shifty eyes* scruffy Holmes makes me feel twitchy.) M.

All is very well, thank you. I haven't been around LJ much because of RL (and a little of disinterest in fandom if I must say so...) but so far so good. :)

Me, too. I find that I miss LJ folks more than the fic and art, actually. Perhaps I should start posting more often, using this as a journal, even though I'm not writing fic? Hm. It's nice to know it's there to go back to.
