I'm not dead - far from it. RL seems to have decided that I no longer have time to fart around on teh interwebz by giving me more things to do than can reasonably be done in a day. Here are a few highlights ( Read more... )

Hi, hunny! Glad you're still around.

Working for family is capricious at best. Glad you've learned this lesson.
Too bad about the wine. Egads.
I'm taking Vit D supplements too. So far, so good. Am at normal levels of stupidity.
*hugs for your friend* You are so good.
Don't get me started on needy children, but yeah, sucks, man.
YAY for writing. I've written stuff that I thought was pretty flat, and yet, people thought was hilarious. Who knew? I'll bet it's funnier than you think.
God, menopause. 'nuff said.

I have us a hotel room for Infinitus!

I'm fine working with the BIL, but my sister is a little too much like our mother.

DO NOT LET ME DRINK TOO MUCH AT INFINITUS (or we'll all be sorry). I mean that.

Got discouraging news on my friend this evening. She might be having seizures and her heart stopped briefly this afternoon. Doctor care conference tomorrow should clarify her situation. You'd adore this woman if you met her.

No, I'm pretty sure it's not funny. I can't even make myself laugh, and I'm usually my best audience.

Can't wait for Infinitus!!!!

Menopause can fuck off and die in a fire.

Sad news about your friend, but I'm glad that things are returning to normal for you!

Hello! It's so nice to hear from you. ♥

I'm so sorry about your friend, ugh, brain surgeries are terrifying. :(((( I bet they're so glad you and your husband are there for them right now though.

I really hope all the super-hectic stuff calms down for you soon! You deserve some time to RELAX, poor girl! :(

Hey you! While I was tending to my little world, you were off in Spain getting stranded and stuff! Welcome back!

♥ ♥ ♥

Yes, I had visions of a nice, quiet spring, but all hell seems to be breaking loose. Go figure.

Just chiming in on the stupid front as brain fog is absolutely something I know a lot about. *G*
Vit D can really make a difference but if you were on Effexor then it was probably playing a real part too. That stuff is hideous.
I haven't heard from anyone who's be on it and not had problems.
I went flat. I said things that were rude and so not something I would normally say. I felt really disconnected and thoughts rarely happened at all. I'd just stare off at nothing.

Ruth had trouble with it too. She got angry a lot and disconnected.

How did you go coming off it? It was 3 months before I was right again. Did you get the brain shivers? That felt like a moth being trapped between your ears? Or like your brain fell backwards out of your head?

I'm glad you're doing a lot better anyway. I've heard a lot of people feel so much better once they get the right amount of D.

Good thoughts for your friend. I hope the damage is minor and she recovers well.
*hugs*

*squeezes gently*

Oh, I've heard that Effexor withdrawal can be a bugger, but I was on a very low dose (my doctor would have let me go higher, but I was afraid of it) because I don't actually have depression and it's used at a lower dose for hot flashes. My other doctor said that most people who take it for its intended use take 4X more than I was on. I think that much would have made me brain dead. The interesting thing is that it really did help my hot flashes at first, but I haven't noticed any significant difference since I stopped taking it. So, we're done with that. So, no, I didn't really have any withdrawal effects because my dose was so low.

I'm become a vitamin D advocate. I'm now making my family members take supplements every day.

Thanks for the hugs. I think my friend has a long road ahead of her.

Sometimes I just hate LJ! I just attempted a really long post to tell you what happened to a friend of mine, in hopes that you would find it encouraging in view of your friend's situation. I don't have time to rewrite it now since LJ locked up during my initial attempt, but just to give you the high points ( ... )

Wow - that's an amazing story. I know that miracles happen every day, but it's always good to hear about them when they do.

I was just talking to my friend's husband and apparently she might be having seizures now - they moved her to a room where they can monitor her 24/7. And her heart stopped briefly today, which is always problematic. Still, it's too early to write her off yet, and I'm staying focused on the positive.

Thanks, honey!
