Katrina has a LONG reach!

HOLY COW!!! I cannot win! Last December we had a huge storm that rolled into town and destroyed our shade shelter that we had over our back patio. We learned our lesson and when it was time to replace it we trimmed back the tree in our yard, bought a VERY sturdy shelter and we anchored down all four corners with HUGE bolder-like rocks. I posted ( Read more... )

Well that sucks! But look at the bright side... you and your family are ok. No one was hurt... ;)

Yes, I am greatful that we are OK and nothing bad happened to us or our pooches... of course this day kees getting worse.... my son's school canceled classes for today so he is home and my day has come to a screaching halt. I got down all of his legos for him to play with today (since he is not allowed to watch/play more than 1 hour of TV or videogames a day). Well my dumb ass hubby put a bunch of those flat "floor-like" pieces on top of the highest boxes on the shelf, I did not know it and when I took the box down the things came crashing down into my nose... so now my nose is all bruised and sore for pictures tonight.... damn it! I just want to kill him right now! It took me 15 minutes to stop crying, it really hurt that bad! UGH! Anyone who has ever seen my son's lego collection would understand.... it is HUGE and there are probably 20 of those sheets that came down and hit the bridge of my nose all at once! owie....

yes, ok... since you outed your x, I will out my man.. most of these legos are HIS!!! He kept the legos he had as a child in an 18 gal tote at my parents house when he first joined the army. Now my son has two additional 18 gal totes. Last year I put my foot down and told him that he was limited to 5 smaller plastic boxes that could fit on the shelf and the rest had to go to storage until he bought me a new house and we had a basement that my son could use as a lego room. I never expected him to stack thsoe darn things on the top of the box on the very top shelf so when I tilt the box to get them down, I get attacked! LOL! My nose is still sore an hour later! And turning blue!

Hmm...I had some small streams about two miles from my house to swell but did not go over the banks. Also, Christian County (KY) was a BIG time victim of the flooding because of the rain from Katrina.

Just thought of it, I could snap some pics and e-mail to nighteyes_70 later on. Hmm..just wondering how this is affecting Illinois.

Anyhoo...at least no one was killed here but LA and MS were not so lucky so just say a quick prayer for them.

Later!

Oh trust me, I have been praying about this hurricane once it began to show up on radar... this season has been nuts... all these hurricanes and everything and we are not even into tornado season yet! OYE!

it needs LOTS of welding and repairs. I am so pissed. Yeah it is covered but my deductable for it is the cost ofreplacing it. :-( So it would not be worth shelling out the deductable for it since I am already paying it off! LOL!
