I read in the guide that lots of people here can do magic. It's not that uncommon in most of the worlds I've been to either, even though my world doesn't have any. (Except me, but I get my magic from somewhere else!)

As for your magic, I don't think your world traveling is going to work. This place is kind of weird like that. The rest of your magic should work okay, though only about at half power.
