Hello people of Luceti!

...this is working, right? I've never seen a book that worked like a computer before.

[Ahem.] My name is Hoshikyo. And today is your lucky day! You see, I just so happen to be a magical girl. For those of you from worlds that don't know what that is, it basically means I'm a school girl turned super hero. I may not look it, ( Read more... )

That's one hell of a wrong turn you made if you ended up here.

As for your magic, I don't think your world traveling is going to work. This place is kind of weird like that. The rest of your magic should work okay, though only about at half power.

You're telling me. Never been to a world that gave me wings before. [SIGH.]

...half power, huh? That's no good. It's because of the barrier here, right?

Yup, exactly. Guessing that's one of the properties it can put on everyone inside of it. Dunno if it has any other major ones.

So I'm not going to be able to go home as long as that barrier is there... [She sounds... a little sad, actually. But her mood seemingly perks up in the next second.]

Well. I'll figure something out!

Well, we've been trying. But if you've been to multiple worlds, maybe you'll have a thought the rest of us hasn't come up with yet. Can't give up!

You're right! The more people the better, after all!

...speaking of, just how many other people are stuck here?

Between 300 and 350, I think.

That many? [She really shouldn't be surprised, but... that many worlds suddenly having contact at all wasn't exactly common.]

I guess I should have figured, given how big the village is. I mean, it's not like we're living in grass huts.

Yeah. There was a time we didn't have electricity, but it was never so bad that we were living in anything like that.

No electricity!? [This is clearly the most shocking thing.] I don't think I could have handled that.

It was... definitely a change. I burned a lot of candles and read a lot of books during that time. But I'm glad we got real power, it makes life a lot easier.

Oh. Well. I guess having books here would make it a bit easier. They aren't really common in my world. [Kind of an understatement.]

Well, if you want to check them out, we do have a library in the village. It's got stuff from a lot of different worlds, too.

Oh, that was my first stop as soon as I read about it in the guide. It's pretty impressive for a village of this size!

Yeah, it is. Lots of great books in there.

[A musclehead who reads. How about that.]

[She'll still think the muscles are gross. Thankfully the journals don't show much more than the shoulders-up.]

So. If they're all from different worlds, does that mean they change a lot? You know, to account for new people who arrive.
