Proswatch - Not a Very Civil Civil Servant

Skipping in very civilly...

The DVD says… “The foolish man built his house upon the sand… Cowley’s reluctant to involve his lads in a case of backhanders and crumbling new council houses. Until, that is, he realises how far the corruption goes…”

Hmm - proverbs. It’s not a write up to inspire to be honest… sounds like a job for Not A Very Civil Civic ( Read more... )

Great review and pics. Another thing I hadn't noticed was Bodie fooling around behind Doyle in the first fencing scenes. Lew must have been in rare good humour when this ep was filmed, as he seems to be playing tricks on people in just about all of his scenes.

Thank you.

Oh isn't it grand when someone notices something new - it's pretty amazing after all these years we can all do that! *g*

And very glad you liked the review!

Yeay, the Doyle-tucked-into-Bodie pics - my favourite! *happy sigh* And yes - more eps and more wine for you please, I love your write ups! Good call on Ashes to Ashes as well! *g*

Well, I'm absolutely lost for words with these images, I think they're excellent. In what way? The quality of the shots is pristine, the colour is just right, the originality of some of the shots - angles which I've never seen before e.g. the toff looking out onto the Thames, Doyle's expression in the courtoom sitting next to Cowley, Bodie and Doyle together just looking at each other. In fact, they're so good, looking at them so closely almost *hurts* (in a moving kind of way) - you get to see them in a way you can't when they're moving on a screen a few feet away.

Thanks very much for sharing your work!

Oh, and I love the shot where you've managed to get them *so* close in the pub after the fight...never seen a shot quite like that before.

Awww - thanks! I didn't manip the shot or anything, but I did spend ages adjusting the light (bright / contrast / colours) trying to see them a bit clearer - its a bit hazy in that pub after their fight! They do stand close though, don't they? Never far apart... *g*

Ah - thank you so much for taking the time to tell me that - I am so happy with your feedback! I do really try to capture the best shot I can, and then I worry at it more in Photoshop to try and make it better, if possible. I never noticed either Doyle's cheeky expression in the court room, and the easy way they stand together until I saved the shots - my Pros watch ends up taking me hours!! But not a hardship... *g*

Ah, Doyle crumbles first but Bodie soon follows - yes, I love it! Perfect caps, thank you so much for these!

Ooo lovely stuff, Mags - you da man! (or something more coherently complimentary).

this is a bit like ‘It’s Only A Beautiful Picture’

Yep. I was reminded of IOaBP all the way through this - another ep that shouldn't work but does, and another one where the FF function is an essential! (These two were the only eps by this writer, I think - have I got that right?)

I can't believe I never spotted that was a Queen song on the jukebox - priceless! XDD (I am more and more convinced that someone on the production team was a time-travelling fangirl!)

Thanks loads - great giggle and gorgeous pics. Thinking of snagging that beautiful b&w one of Bodie - would that be OK?

Ah - so the same writer (potentially) wrote both this and IOaBP? A chip on his shoulder about posh folk, mebbe?

Considering nearly all music in Pros was 'The Song' - I couldn't believe my ears to hear Queen. It was only because I kept humming it afterwards, and then had to search for it and lo and behold. Must be a time-travelling fangirl!!

And please snag beautiful Bodie - he's all yours! *g*
