Right, so it's that time of the year again. Tha wonderful exciting time of year wherein I always have such high hopes and expectations, and wherein my creativity always deserts me just when I need it the most

Last year I stole an idea from Katie-my-freshman-prefect and went as Hester Prynne. This year I doubt I'm dressing up, though two of the boys in my Greek class have decided to be Hoplites.
Oooh... if I had your hair, I'd dress up as Ethebet from the novel Talyn. Basically she's this kickass warrior woman with red hair that she wears in a 9 part braid that falls to her waist (I bet if you straightened your hair, which is hard to imagine, it'd be long enough).
And you're a folklorist aren't you? Certainly there are interesting characters in those stories.
Oooh! Like Bluebeard's First Wife... you could take a lot of free reign with that...
Mags, If you can get your hands on a bag of balloons and a clear plastic trash bag, you can always be a bag of jelly beans, or (if you can find purple balloons) a bunch of grapes. Barring that, an old box and some paints create any number of candy bars or cereal boxes. Ummmm...hershey's kiss with aluminum foil and crepe paper (assuming you can find some substitute for the hula hoop bottom)...ummmm...I seem to be revolving here around a food theme. Time for dinner, I guess. Probably the myth theme would be easier to pull off without a trip to town. Love you...
Yeah, the supplies are pretty limited, and I honestly don't know if I could even some up with something like facepaint (last year I used eyeliner for my age lines for lack of anything better). And I'm also trying to avoid things I've done before ... and many's the time you've stuffed me into plastic bags and/or wrapped me in tinfoil for school Halloween parties!
In terms of mythology, though, what do you suggest? I've done the boudicca thing, and don't really have the wherewithal to do it again anywhere near as successfully. Greek? Celtic? That would be the most appropriate, I guess, but a Dhia what would I do? Who? When? I suppose I could be like Màiri Mhòr nan Òran or some other historical bana-Gaidheal ...
Hmm ... suppose I could straighten (and/or temporarily dye? don't think I'm willing to cut) my hair for it ... though have you seen the color of her hair recently? It underwent a pretty radical alteration, and while I haven't seen her in a while (there's a point - what happened to her? Hmmm ... will ask someone who's got a class with her), I haven't quite decided whether or not I think the dark dark mahogany brown suits.

Food for thought ...
ps -- you, my love, are mad as a hatter. One of the reasons I adore you, granted, but you are.
