Santa Monica plans to use birth control on squirrels

Apparently, they're trying to foil Lord Nutsy's planned takeover by giving squirrels birth control, due to a "population explosion."

I have no fewer than three of Lord Nutsy's chubby minions on my deck chowing down on sunflower seeds. This makes me feel happy.

And I'm now able to do laundry. Which is a good thing as there was a Mt. Everest-sized pile of srsly dirty laundry awaiting me. The washer is going as we speak. Yay for clean clothes!

No, not presidential manboobs - Psaltriparus minimus, cute and teeny little birds. They seldom visit my deck but the walnuts I put out for Lord Nutsy attracted a whole flock of them. They're like tiny gray cottonballs with tails and bright, black eyes. They hop around and make little peeping noises. So cute ( Read more... )
