Granny panties to the pepsi max, and now I know why I have insomnia

During a discussion on a fashion-related thread about how to avoid thigh-rub when going bare-legged under skirts, talk turned to "pettipants" from the Vermont Country Store. I thought that sounded like a better option than bike shorts (I do NOT want to wear bike shorts when it's 100 degrees outside. That negates the whole point of wearing a skirt ( Read more... )

When we lived in student housing, I LOVED HtB's CPAP. The white noise drowned out all the phone conversations, late-night movies, people clomping up and down the stairs...

He actually used a sleep appliance for awhile and it worked well. It's like a retainer (you get it from an orthodontist) and it holds your bottom jaw forward, which helps keep your airway clear. It was great for traveling or other times when you didn't want to have to carry/plug in the CPAP.

Maybe you could embroider some superhero symbols on the pants, kind of in a nod to the 1950s - unless the pants are more like the 1850s!

I think the white noise will be an extra lull-me-to-sleep bonus! I already have an air purifier which emits a white noise and it's great.

That's good to know about the dental appliance. It would be less cumbersome to travel with. Though the CPAP I saw at the sleep lab was the size of a shoebox and would probably fit in carry-on luggage.

These panties are DEFINITELY more 1850's. Laura Ingalls Wilder would have loved them.

I have a pair of granny pants - yes, this is what I call them- and they are SO COMFORTABLE. Holy shit. I got them for the same reason that you did and boy howdy do they work. I wish I could justify buying more of them, but they're icky feeling with pants and I don't wear skirts very often. Sexy underpants are never comfortable, and I'm all about comfort so ( ... )

Nice to know there is a 'reason' for your sleep troubles and that you aren't degenerating into craziness. Well, not THAT type of craziness, LOL! Good luck with the CPAP and stuff - my brother has one, and he is so much better with it.

If I ever rediscover my sewing machine in the spare room, I will have a go at making some pettipants. Luckily we are now heading into winter, when it is pants or the occasional long skirt + tights, so hopefully I will find it before next summer!
