It's been very cold here!  All of a sudden the temperature (day and night) has dropped very low (for Perth).  The maximum yesterday and today were 15.1C and 15.6C, respectively.  This is what our back yard looked like yesterday when the minimum was 0.2C.

FROST IN PERTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing! I hope not too many plants were lost.

And a new PM, a woman PM. I hope Ms. Gillard is able to do well by your country. The world is such a precarious place. It must be very difficult to try and govern responsibly.

Today's a bit overcast, so no frost, but it's just cold, even inside! I wouldn't do well in a really cold climate, like where you live. :)

Some of the leaves on our vegetable plants were a bit burnt, but not too badly. The capsicum plant's newer leaves were also affected, but I don't think it'll make any difference.

I wish her well. However, there have been a lot of behind-the-scenes goings-on leading up to this decision being made, so who knows what the future will hold for her. I hope that she has the strength to make the tough decisions that come with the job. There's an election coming up within the next 2-3 months. We'll see how that goes!

I'm glad the damage to new plants was small, Maewyn. And good fortune to you and your country as you soldier on into 2010.

Surely there should be a "Nya nya, nya nya nah!" to go along with that! :) :)

I envy you! Enjoy it while you can. I'm sure the cold will be awaiting you when you get back!

Thank you!

I had taken photos of the moon a few nights ago, but they were fuzzy, so I was pleasantly surprised that the eclipse photos turned out so well!
