Sugar Blues

I’m sure the part of me that likes sugar is wondering what the hell is going on. Last night I dreamed that I stole pudding from ladies on the street, like snatched it right from their hands and started eating it while running away. Later I entered a bus with a fruit and yogurt bar and I just picked up a spoon and started eating. An attendant asked ( Read more... )

sounds challenging, but healthy :)

If you like vinaigrette, you can do up your own salad dressings pretty easily. I've made asian peanut dressing and green goddess, too. It's fun.

I gave up sugar for something like a year and a half. You get pretty sensitive to it and anything sweeter than plain fruit is just too much. Restaurant food & frozen dinners become really un tasty. even 'healthy choice' and stuff like that. They sweeten everything, even savory stuff.

Yeah, I'm noticing that...I had berries and cream today and it was like the sweetest thing I've ever tasted!

My husband and I are cutting out salt. We have been making most of our own food. Now when we go out the salty food stings my lips and all I can taste is salt, not the food!

I suspect the feeling with sugar is the same way.

However, you might want to give it more than a month to see weight loss. A healthy amount of weight to lose a week is between half a pound to two pounds, so in a month you might only lose a few pounds and it might not be noticible if you have any water weight on. I suggest three months to really see if a new nutrition plan is working.

Nice, thank you. I'm already starting to see results and I feel really good so I think this might be a doable diet plan for me for a while.

Congrats on cutting down on the salt!

I've been doing the low sugar thing too. I'm also trying to avoid things like aspartame and I actually found a soda sweetened with Stevia so I was ecstatic-- I don't drink coffee (and have cut out caffeine as well-- THAT sucked for about a week, epic headaches and tiredness) but there is something I love about my morning soda. Everything has fucking sugar in it, it's true. I've been avoiding a lot of processed grains and stuff, and the other day I was in Walmart and realized FOUR WHOLE AISLES were nothing but fucking carb and sugar loaded snacks.

Yeah, No kidding! I feel like I'm retraining my taste buds and the headaches have gone for the most part.

What's the soda?
