help!

does anyone out there have any suggestions for music that i could sing at an episcopalian wedding? i was going to sing an Ave Maria, but the rector just emailed me and said it wasn't appropriate since nowhere in the service were they going to be praying to Mary. guh. details ( Read more... )

I sent an email to my husband. He occasionally plays trumpet accompaniment during weddings. He suggested Edvard Grieg's I love you He may be able to get other suggestions from some of his musician friends. He sent a few email out, so we'll see.

I was married in an Episcopal service and Ave Maria was sung. Obviously our minister didn't care. He was a bit of a drunk though:D The Grieg piece was sung at our wedding as well.

argh. alas. it looks like i've been strong-armed into singing "The Call" by Ralph Vaughan Williams. that's what the Rector and Organist really want(s) me to do. luckily, the words are lovely. i did look at the Grieg piece, too, and it also sounds wonderful. but the accompanist already has the music for "The Call," so i agreed to do that. *sigh*
