"Friends -

"Thanks for being a part of the team. In one month, over 330,000 people have signed saying no, to government health care!  We are now receiving between 15,000 - 20,000 signatures every day. We ask each of ( Read more... )

Oh wow, health care day is on my birthday...

Speaking from the experience of trying to find an hourly job myself, this would really hurt people looking for those kinds of jobs. To employers, most employees that make minimum wage are paid that because they aren't worth the extra money, so if the minimum wage is increased (especially by such a huge amount), the employers are not going to happily give them the pay raise required to pay for the healthcare tax, but rather will see the employees as not being worth the extra money and fire them instead. For new hires, they will not hire them unless they seem to be worth the $13/hr that they would have to pay them.

This is probably only the tip of the iceberg, but this is more of what I have experience with.

No need to be sorry! I totally agree, and am desperately hoping that these types of things will be said and heard.

Note the the pay raise will merely be effective - the point being made is that employers will have to put out an average of $6 per hour more to cover mandated health insurance.

Also note that this particular note hurts small businesses more than anyone - they need people, but as costs go up to support employees, they may not be able to afford to hire the people that are essential to running their business! It's ironic and horribly sad - the left is so against big business, but everything they do - including things they say they mean to hurt big businesses - hurts small businesses much more than large ones. Every tax and extra expense imposed is another obstacle that makes starting a small business more risky - and less and less worth the investment.
