I see two LJ friends have posted after being away, so I am loading my friends page, so I can read those posts. While that happens, I will mention a thought / hypothesis

Nice comparison. 2nd marriage here, but in both cases, generosity is key to a healthy relationship. (Working better this time around as we approach 23 years married, 28 together, so I can vouch for this...)
Good for you. Maybe you should say thank you to the last one - for going away, lol.
Note: It doesn't work, where one is generous and the other one doesn't even say thank you, and such.
I have to tell you, I feel I have had correspondence with you way in the past, either via LJ, or via my health advocacy, when I published a newsletter for people w/ various illnesses. I believe I recall talking to a female in Peoria who had Sjogrens, etc. Maybe not, not sure.
It is quite possible because your user name does sound familiar to me. I was on LJ a million years ago as velvetjademuse-mostly poetry back then. I ran an open mic and writers' groups in Peoria & Kewanee as well.
Yes, I have! It was important to me, and I've used, "grok," many times.
But I had to check Wiki to refresh my memory. I can sense how that book might relate here, but cannot pinpoint it...? Was generosity a big part of sex for Smith? Or something??
?
[Just for the record, and not to brag, but I read that book so long ago, I'm pretty sure my thoughts in this post are, 'original' - (although, I hope you might read my thoughts on originality and inspiration some time. I've been thinking of doing a brief new post on all that soon)].
Absolutely! You have great instincts. Thanks for the astute comment.
Seeing this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Church_of_All_Worlds reminded me of a religion in one or two Vonnegut books, where members try to connect each other souls, by lying with the souls of their feet up against each other. Bokonism. Ever grok that?
