[After exploring the depths of the abandoned ship and the shattered Lamufao, Kefka decides to have a little talk with some of Vatheon's brightest and dumbest heroes. While he personally wouldn't mind seeing this little city be crushed by the weight of the ocean, Kefka would rather that would happen without him being trapped here. This is the only ( Read more... )

[ Creepy clown is creepy, but her hero instincts keep nagging at her. She wants to help because she wasn't able to save those poor natives that just up and keeled over..

.. so she's taking the bait! ]

How do we give the coral enough power??

[It seems that Kefka has snagged a certain little heroine in his schemes. This could prove to be interesting.]

That is what I would like to know~! You see, right now the Lamufao is working at a quarter strength. That means one part of it is out of commission, while the other half is still active.

In order to recharge the coral reef, I'm guessing we need to focus on the side that's inactive first.

[ It's unfortunately in Usagi's nature to put her hope in the idea that those with ill intentions will have a moment of good! It's why she's even humoring the harlequin! ]

I guess that makes sense.. But what if it doesn't work?

Let's not worry about the 'What-Ifs' right now! If the barrier breaks, then we're going to die. Do you understand that? We need to find a way to keep the coral reef functioning or else it's curtains for us.

[Trust him, Usagi. DYING SUCKS! That's why Kefka doesn't want to go through that again.]

[She made sure Locke wasn't around before responding.]

I thought you would be thrilled to regain some of what the coral takes from us.

[Wise choice, sweetie!]

I am thrilled to have most of my powers back, but if the barrier around this city breaks---we're gonna be all wet!

[ She doesn't at all look very pleased about this news, but then again, it's not all that surprising to her. ]

Even magic uses cannot keep that sort of thing up forever, you realize. They'll run out of energy.

Tch! For someone who barely knows a thing about magic, you sure like to go off at the mouth about it.

[She might think that magic doesn't last forever, but Kefka begs to differ.]

I'll figure out someway to keep the Lamufao running, so don't even worry about it.

I know plenty about magic.

[ Integra shrugs, letting him think what he wants. ]

If you say so.

You do? Well, now! This isn't what I expected to hear about. I thought you was a woman of action, the kind of broad who cares guns and such.

Not everyone would die.

[Does it sound heartless? Maybe. He switches the SFC over to video and with a wave of his hand, he conjures up a small ball of water in the palm of his hand.]

[That's a tad cold even for you, spoony bard! However, Kefka is more intrigued with Demyx's abilities than the morbid conversation at hand.]

So, you control the element of water? Fancy that! I wonder how you've achieved such a power.

[But caring requires a heart! Which he lacks. With the twist of a wrist it shifts and coils around his lower arm with a shrug.]

You could say I was born with it.

[What the hell do you think this is? A Maybelline commercial?!]

Really? So I guess you're a magi some kind, eh? Funny, you don't seem like the type to possess any sort of magical powers.

That's a rather grim thought, though I don't think it would happen as you think.

Oh? Then what do you think will happen if that barrier collapses someday? I'm just DYING to know!

Well, I'm sure there are a number of people round here with magical abilities--myself included--and if you were to know anything about magic, then you would know that there are a number of charms that can assist in surviving underwater.

One of which, is very similar to the bubble around the city.

Are you claiming I know nothing of magic, you cheeky brat? I will you know that I'm the most powerful mage that ever lived! If you claim to know anything about magic, then you would know that magic different from world to world.

The magic that once worked in your realm, might not have the effect here.
