I have to say, I feel almost alone in loving the darkness of season 6. Okay, it sometimes got a bit much (especially Buffy's whining about how she and Spike need to end it, only to keep continuing). But I thought her relationship with Spike there in season 6 was brilliantly resonant of the closet... feeling 'dirty' and 'shameful' for what you feel, for what you need, and hiding it from the people you're closest to, not being allowed to let anyone know, or be seen in public together. And the reaction when her friends found out, was very much like the "eww gross" reactoin a lot of straight people have when their gay friends come out. Incomprehnsion, moving to wary tolerance, but never really understanding

lol! I did the opposite! everytime i saw him I thought, "principal wood!"
I didn't start watching until the reruns of season 6, so 7 was the only one that i saw in real time. thw wb was doing reruns on saturdays and sundays of the old ones, so i was watching buffy 3 times a week for a while there. i eventually got the first season on dvd and then got the rest on netflix just to see tham in order and get all the special features
I loved Angel almost as much as I loved Buffy :) So in Angel's S5 -- Spike initially was somehow unable to leave LA. This frustrated him to no end as, of course, one of the first things he wanted to do was find Buffy. In the ep "The Girl in Question", Angel & Spike both head to Rome on a mission & to find Buffy when they hear she's involved with someone called The Immortal. Instead of finding Buffy, they find Andrew who basically tells them that Buffy loves them both but has moved on, as should they.
Besides we all know the one true ship was Angel & Spike and IIRC, that ship actually became canon in the last episode with 1 throwaway line :) We also have no idea whether or not Angel & Spike survives the finale.
Oh yea, we are also told that Dawn is with Buffy in Rome and Willow, Kennedy and I'm assuming Xander were in South America.
Actually the events of "The Girl in Question" have recently been called into doubt by Joss Whedon himself. There's a new Dark Horse comic book about Buffy. I realize that usually stuff that happens in comics and novels aren't considered 'canon' but since this one is written by Joss Whedon himself...(would that be considered canon? Or not? Hmmmm) Anyway, in the comic, it has been stated that after making all the potentials into Slayers Buffy has had to have three other girls posing as her to lead potential enemies away from her

'Kay so random and off topic... The Addams Family was on Bravo tonight... and did you know the guy from Numbers and The Santa Clause that you like so much is Wednesday's "love interest"? I'm usually a lurker, but I immediately thought of you once I had figured out where I knew that guy from! He's really really young in the movie.
