DVD frustrations

"The Young Riders" season 1 is now out on DVD.  I loved that show.  I believe it will be added to the queue forthwith, possibly to be added to the permanent collection.

Although this is AWESOME, it cannot but help remind me yet again that there is...

STILL.  NO.  "SCARECROW AND MRS. KING."

Is that so much to ask for?

tv: nostalgia, tv: dvd

OMG are you serious!? I lived that show. My friends and I wrote letters to each other w/Pony Express symbols on them, addressed to each other by our YR names. (Yes, we called each other after the characters on the show!) I was Cody, my friend Holly was Buck, and Teri was Jimmy. We all three shared a locker, and we made these mail pockets that we taped to the door to leave each other the letters. For an entire year, I almost didn't answer when someone called my name in the halls, because I was much more accustomed to being addressed as Cody. At the end of the year, our friend Justin joined in our exclusive little fandom, under the name of Lou, as he was the only guy. Heh. :)

Ah, the memories! My parents never did understand why I was thrilled to receive longjohns as my birthday gift from my friends that year. It was all very much like the odder corners of fandom, except IRL instead of online.

Ya know, this whole Netflix thing is looking better and better all the time. Maybe once they have S&mK I'll put in for it. And, you know, the universe adds 6 more hours to each day. :B

I really loved Scarecrow and Mrs. King. I think I've seen every episode. Why, oh why, haven't they released it yet? I bet it would sell really well. (at least, the episodes before they hook up).

I liked it when they hooked up! That show is the entire reason I'm such an inveterate shipper. And the post-wedding shows would have been a lot more interesting if Kate Jackson hadn't been sick and unable to work a lot of the time.

I'm such a sucker for UST. Once they'd gotten together for good, I still enjoyed the show, but it didn't have that same hold on me as it once did.

It was like that with Moonlighting too.

I hadn't realized Kate Jackson had been ill and that's why she hadn't been on the show. That actually explains a lot.

Yes, she was being treated for breast cancer. That's why half of the final season episodes had her basically at the beginning and the end, and then poor Lee was stuck with Francine for the bulk of the episode ( ... )

I loved that show. Besides being enjoyable it was the only other show I saw Boxleitner in until B5.
