I read somewhere that the only way to be rid of bedbugs is to get rid of the entire bed--frame, mattress, box springs, everything.

I have just metal bedframes so no worries there. And the discarding-mattresses thing is actually not recommended unless the infestation is severe. If you don't eradicate the entire population (also in carpets, etc) and bring in new mattresses they'll just get reinfected. It's possible to treat the bed and make it safe.

WOW that is a bummer. Where in the world did the bed bugs come from? I hope that the treatment rids you of them for good
