For two weeks, I've been getting emails from LiveJournal every time I log in, saying that I've never logged in from that IP address any more. At one point I'd speculated that they were using tracking cookies to determine this, then changed my mind. It appears that I was right. Here's the relevant part of a response I got today to my support request

My D has the same issue as his system is locked up to never save cookies and rarely accept them. He is likewise disgruntled.

I personally give up and let them insert whatever they want into my computer anytime they want to.
