It shows up a little better when I click twice to get the largest view but, unless it's a trick of your camera's lens, you've captured a second, fainter rainbow farther off to the right.

That second rainbow is real. When you're in an old castle overlooking the Shire, major magic is possible.

There were some reflected lights from inside, which I did my best to clean up with Photoshop, but that's a separate issue.

One of Bujold's inspirations for _The Hallowed Hunt_ was _Mad Princes of Renaissance Germany_ by H. C. Erik Midelfort, which she found on Patricia Wrede's floor. Since you've so recently been in the setting, you might enjoy either book, or both.
