When I boarded the wrong train in Betzdorf and wound up in Siegen instead of Freusburg, it wasn't a good start. Fortunately, a couple of women helped me, letting me call Katy on their phone and helping me to figure out which train to catch back to Freusburg. I'm back home from Pi-Con. Got to hear Sassafrass, get old computers, see people, find a source of mad scientist lab coats, etc. I walked from Connecticut to Massachusetts and back, twice.

IPRES in Toronto is Sunday, September 30, through Friday, October 5. If I go to FilkContinental and fly out on Monday, then I can still catch Tuesday through Friday of the conference. And ... this gives me a perfect excuse to fly out of Canada instead of the US! So perhaps I can do both of them.

IPRES 2012, an important professional conference which is usually somewhere far from the USA, will be in Toronto this year ... at the same time as FilkContinental. This is good and annoying news at the same time.

Maybe I should start making plans for DFDF.
