You could really feel/see Dean holding himself back from going to Amara. I do hope they explore this light/darkness thing a bit more. One can't exist without the other is certainly true of Sam and Dean!!
And I love that whole last line. Just perfect for where they're at. :D

Yes, I loved how Sam had to physically hold Dean to stop him from going to her! And I agree, I want to see them explore this light/dark aspect a little more, they certainly left a lot of hints about it, and like you say it does work so perfectly for Sam and Dean.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I always forward to your comments. Take care :)

Me too!!! I have no idea where we're heading, because this episode felt like a finale to me and it ended roughly where I thought the season would end, but no we have a whole new episode left!

Take care and thanks so much for reading and commenting :)

This is very interesting. And quite a contrast as in the past the light has always gravitated toward Dean where the dark always gravitated toward Sam. And I love love love the idea of the darkness and light not being able to exist without the other just as Sam and Dean aren't able to exist without the other. Hasn't worked out for them so far, anyway. Thank you for sharing this. It's given me some much needed excitement for the end of the season! *hugs*

It certainly does spin things on its head, because you're right, in the past we've very much seen Sam as the dark and Dean as the light, and it's interesting to see this from a different point of view.

I too am excited to see where this takes us as I have no idea where we're heading!

Thank you so much for stopping by. Take care :)

This is really it, yeah? They kinda compartmentalized it into light and dark, but God also spelled out--pretty clearly--that you can't have one without the other.

The face Amara is willing to kill God out of spite and anger and vengeance is...I dunno, kinda dumbing her down? Boy, will I be glad when they've moved on from this immediate mytharc.

PS...loved the drabble, though! Exactly 100 well-chosen words. Go, you!

It certainly felt like they were highligting that God is light and Amara is dark, but I wonder if I've read too much into the Sam and Dean connection there. As others have commented, we usually see Sam aligned with the dark, so it might be refreshing to see further exploration of Sam and Light; especially his faith and prayers, which Show seems to have skipped over.

It did feel like a dumbing down of Amara's character, but as of yet she hasn't killed her brother, so maybe we've only just scratched the surface of their sibling complexities.

Thank you so much for stopping by, it's wonderful to hear your thoughts and I'm happy that you enjoyed the drabble. Take care my friend (ps I've meaning to email you, so I'll drop you a quick line)

Wonderful!! So much internal conflict with Dean this season and you've captured it perfectly! A lot of the great tension in this season comes from Dean's issues with Amara, it's been great to watch and to read your take on this <33

Thank you so much for reading. I found the connection between Dean and Amara fascinating, and while this may have dipped a little in the finale for me, I loved how they seemed to be aligning Dean and Amara's darkness, to Sam and Chuck's light in this episode. I found that really interesting, especially as in early seasons it's very much been the other way around.

It's always a lovely to hear form you. Take care :)
