An open letter to Canon

I had a need for a new, different printer. Ink jet printers produce beautiful images, but they're delicate and run and smear when wet. Worse, if I only use the printer occasionally, the nozzles clog and I use a lot of expensive ink getting them working again. It's possible they don't write the drivers, they outsource it, and that's the sticking point.

But in any case, that's crappy behavior.

I sure like my olympus digital cameras.

I've been very happy with Epson high end printers, even if they don't do metallic foils. HP products are pretty much banned from my house for poor quality and worse support. I bought a Canon printer once and it was basically junk. I take it as an article of faith that there's considerable separation between their printer division and their camera division.
