Back from my trip to the Yukon and Alaska, as of very early this morning. And if there's something I took away from the journey, it's this: You can't take pictures of mountains. Even the best photographer with the best equipment could never capture what it's like to stand in the presence of a mountain. Yet all the same, even knowing how futile ( Read more... )

It was! It was a very different trip from Japan, even though we squeezed about as much stuff in. Not quite as wacky, and a little bit more about basking in the majesty of the North and such nonsense. That, and everybody spoke English, I guess.

but isn't it a different kind of English? like, a version where "-inG" isn't used but "-in'" is? as in "huntin'" & "fishin'" & "ATV-in'" and such? (i'm of the belief that sarah palin's last name actually used to be "paling" years and years ago, and that through the decades, it has morphed into what we know it to be. for a while, it was "palin'").

and yes, i know that i'm going to a special place in hell, thankyouverymuch.

Days I'm a-working...Tomorrow night I'm busy, but no plans yet for Thursday. Friday could be busy, I'm not sure yet. Same for Saturday. Sunday's free. It's a lot of up-in-the-air, but if you want to pick a time we'll see if it fits!

those old-timey bears are definitely better than the slick, modern bears we get nowadays...

i don't think i've ever seen a mountain, so i look forward to your feeble photos.
