What Is It With Networks, Anyway?

What bizarre urge causes Network People to look at a successful show and think, "Let's just change this around a bit!"   ...Wouldn't it perhaps be more logical to wait till the show is broken before "fixing" it?

I hold out vague hope that the public outcry will make them change their minds... *sigh*

I haven't watched Criminal Minds in a while, but you bring up really valid points about all their characters. *shakes head*

Yay Buffy Season One! I am always struck by how young Darla looks. I would swear Julie Benz still looks the same now, but my memory obviously fails. ^_^

LOL Yes, Darla looks like a baby! The others I really notice it in are Buffy and Angel! *grin*

I watched the Sid the puppet episode last night - I'd forgotten who the bad guy was on that one!

I can't believe they're getting rid of JJ. She's like the heart of the team! She keeps them focused! -_- Dumbasses. I was reading about this yesterday and just thinking, wtf??

I had a hard enough time liking Prentiss when she first came on, and it took me a while to warm up to her. New!Female!Character sexy!Mary Sue is not going to win any votes simply because she is female. *headdesk*

Exactly, with JJ - She picks the cases! Organizes the group! She's also often the person on the team that the victim's family bonds with. Although the latest thing I read, it sounded like this is where they are going to bring in the New!Female!Character. *sigh*

Prentiss did take some getting used to, but I quite like her now. She's very competent and practical, she's good with witnesses and family members, thinks on her feet... Both JJ and Garcia, by virtue of their jobs, are kept back and protected a bit, but Emily is right in the middle of things.

...sorry, that wound up practically essay length! LOL I'm disappointed in their decision, but maybe they'll change their minds!

This!! I mean, I don't know if they were doing a test run or what when they brought in the other chick to cover her while she was on maternity leave, but I really didn't like the other chick either. She was whiny, I totally didn't believe her when she stood up to Hotch (those scenes were all, wha? for me as she seemed like a little kid telling off her parents for things that she's not mature enough or knowledgeable enough to understand. -_-)

She just gives the team that feeling of warmth and makes them seem like a family instead of just a bunch of people obsessed with their jobs to the point of having no other life. -_- The family feel is really important to what makes the show work over the long term. Without it, it's just one of those Case monster of the week type shows where you're more interested in the case than in the characters ( ... )

Lol, so, um, here's an essay back? ^_^ It's just aggravating, because you know they'd never try and get rid of Reid's character, and JJ is just as important a character as he is, she just happens to be female. -_-

It's funny, but that's exactly where my mind went! They haven't done much with Reid lately, but they wouldn't dare reduce or replace his role!!! LOL
