R&J is, surprisingly, a very difficult play for me to enjoy. I just can't relax and drink it in... yup, I studied it for O-level back in 1969.

The underlying tragedy just wrings me out too much, somehow.

I just want to slap Romeo a bit - less poetically than Friar Lawrence though

And Juliet is as bad, so teenagey! "I am so like in love! Nobody old (ie over 16) has ever been in love so much as me! End of!! "

I am just teasing, but it's not my favourite play either!
