So... I gather some people get excited about this. I can't remember the last time I was particularly excited though. Is it strange that to me, it's just two minutes away and oh, there we are, it's a new year, er... yay? Alright then.
Anyway. Happy New Year! Here we go, last minute of the year. Gosh. New decade and all that.

Cranford is an excellent piece of wintertime television.
I can't recommend it enough as the epitome of gentle drama, often hilariously funny, and often exceptionally sad. It is beautifully presented in an understated manner, with the grotesquerie of the characters never overdone or overplayed ( Read more... ) -

I just looked back at the year's post calendar - egads, but I was dead quiet for most of the year. A couple posts in January, a couple in April, then nothing until November. What happened to the Maboo who wrote all those deep, meaningful and beautiful poems that gave me cold chills when I was looking through my memories?

This article is absolutely right. Much as I love London buses, the 65 route - which is pretty much the only one on its route (where I am), so there is no ability to use other buses - is hands down the absolute worst service in London ( Read more... )
