I've missed reading for fun and hope that I don't stop all summer. I'm reading "Jennifer Government" by Max Barry. It's all about a future world totally over run by capitalism. It's kinda cracked out, but interesting and fun to read. I can't wait to move on to heavier books (in content, not weight, of course) soon. :)

Currently I'm in Seattle and am unemployed. However much fun walking around naked in my house is while the rest of my family works, I would much rather be doing something of merit. I don't think that I will ever understand why people "go tanning." If people are tan as a result of spending a lot of time outside because they enjoy it or they work outside, whatever. The existence of tanning salons is what I have a problem with. Why on earth would anybody go somewhere for the sole purpose of changing the color of their skin? ( Read more... )

Apparently I forgot to mention somewhere along the way that I'm going to be interning at Marrowstone this summer. Along with the normal duties of the bassoon intern it looks like I'll be playing principal on the Rite of Spring and assisting on Daphnis and Chloe.
