Braaaain! (Also: Mac complains about something that's actually worth complaining about, for once)

If I haven't mentioned it, I'm really not a big fan of my brain. We're coming close to about two years now of me basically living in a pain-coma, and even before then it was vastly disrupting my life. It is incredibly, incredibly frustrating. Most of the time when I'm not posting, it's because I feel absolutely miserable and am incapable of doing ( Read more... )

Sounds awful. I can't imagine enduring that kind of situation for so long. I really hope things'll get better for you.

My mother suffers from migraines from time to time. Nothing close to what you described, but scary enough to see. She basically shuts down, doesn't move, stays in the dark and breathes as little as possible until the pain goes away. While watching the telly recently she saw a report for something that sounded interesting and had me look it up. No clue if it's even worth mentioning but it is something different and at least appears to be on the up and up so here's the link to the product web site: click here

I'm a long time reader but I was deployed when you posted this and I don't even know if you will see this. Still I know your pain having had migraines of almost the exact same description dominate and ruin my life from age eleven to eighteen. The pain and frustration of the wait for each new medication trial period and then the desperation where I even tried all the other bullshit alternative treatments.

I so wish I could tell you that I found the miracle cure but no they just went away on their own leaving me pain free but trying to pick up the pieces of my life. As much as I love serving my country, the Navy was not what I had in mind for my life but options are short when you are a high school drop out with nothing but a GED and that nagging fear that the pain could come back at anytime.

So thanks man for all the amusing rants, free entertainment and for just coming back to this when I know that most of the time all you want to do is curl up in a cold dark room and hope it all goes away.
