I'm not going to get into the whole long story about Ozymandias, the plagiarist who got caught plagiarizing, got all huffy and outraged, was eventually proven to have purposefully plagiarized, swore he'd never do it again, got a second chance, then immediately turned around and did it again. Agreed. As the Middleman said, "There's no negotiating with plagiarists. You take credit for a man's ideas, you rob his spirit...It really steams my skillet."

Heh. I was so tempted to make a joke post about how I've read this opinion somewhere else and your [sic] just a plagiarist, too, but then I just couldn't do it to you.

I was just on the old bx_fanfic yahoo group ten minutes ago going through some of the archives. I was also reminiscing about a lot of the old guard authors, including Oz.

What he did was reprehensible. And while this latest trangression could be argued to be sin a of omission, since the story was posted long ago. The fact that he did it so soon after his huge mea culpa just rubs me the wrong way.

I enjoyed his "writing". And it irks me that when I want to look back fondly I'll never be able to. The line between what he wrote and what he stole can never really be found.

This is disappointing, but frankly not surprising.

I remember Ozmandayus from the old days too, and even dedicated a B/X fic to him once. That was horrible what he did, and such an even bigger scum bucket to keep doing it even after he was caught. How mentally ill does that guy have to be to keep doing something like that? Maybe he wanted to be caught and that was part of the thrill of doing it.
